All components and raw materials used are naturally derived and harmless to humans, animals and plants throughout the entire process.

On this basis, Dainty Dystopia manufactures its own products to order as well as special one-off pieces for private customers. In addition, the studio also supports designers and artists in the development and realisation of their Botanical Dye ideas.

Those who want to get creative themselves will find their perfect first project in the label‘s Botanical Dye Kits. The DIY sets for the home contain all the necessary materials and guide you easily and safely into the world of natural colours and patterns with step-by-step instructions and video tutorials.

Dainty Dystopia also likes to share its fascination for botanical colours live: as a booked host of dyeing courses or as part of concept store events, at self-organised workshops and creative retreats – the team not only imparts knowledge, but creates inspiring experiences.

BOTANICAL DYE SESSIONS

duration: 20 – 30 minutes each

SESSION #01 :: BUNDLE DYEING

Bundle Dyeing is a process in which dyeing material is laid out on the textile, then tied into a bundle and placed in a steam bath. Experience how unique patterns are created through arrangement and folding techniques. Of course, you will also learn one or two practical tricks.

SESSION #02 :: COLOUR SHIFTING WITH NUANCERS

In this session you will be initiated into the secrets of pigment modification, the processes of which have an almost alchemical character. Like magic, colours change – often completely unexpectedly – under the influence of different solutions.

Even apart from the Botanical Dye Sessions, a visit to the DAINTY DYSTOPIA stand is worthwhile, where dyeing takes place throughout. Look over the shoulder during production and be inspired by the world of natural dyes.
