Which key looks are defining the new season? What must-have pieces should I be including in my order? And how is colour bringing a new dynamic to the collections? As a fashion journalist and trend consultant, Karolina Landowski has been writing and speaking about fashion trends for twelve years now. In her TRENDVIEW presentation at Gallery, she will be summarising the most important ladies’ and menswear looks for the spring/summer 2019 ordering season together with Igedo Fashion Director Alexander Radermacher.

German retailers are acting too cautiously, retail is crying out for reinvention. As a fashion country, Germany needs new labels and more willingness to embrace innovation. Anja Gockel, the network’s new design ambassador and member of the EFC, European Fashion Council, together with Doris Hartwich, Designer of the Year 2018, will be delving into this topic in a panel discussion. The two designers will be reporting on their experiences so far in the fashion business, as well as their future plans. Afterwards, they will be available for interviews with the press.

Networking, exchanging opinions, brainstorming – on the second evening of the tradeshow, the fashion community will be getting together for a relaxed get-together al fresco.

PLATFORM FASHION
From 20-22 July 2018, fashion show format PLATFORM FASHION will be celebrating its tenth edition, parallel to Düsseldorf’s order days. For the fifth year, the cooperation partner of Igedo Company will be innovatively presenting the latest fashion collections of various labels against the sleek industrial backdrop of Areal Böhler in Düsseldorf. Visitors can also look forward to the multilabel shows PLATFORM FASHION SELECTED, as well as FashionYard meets PLATFORM FASHION. A fashion show by THE NRW DESIGN ISSUE_CATWALK, a project supported by the Ministry of Economics, Innovation, Digitalisation and Energy of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, will be presenting outstanding fashion designers from the local area. Fashion and lifestyle company Breuninger, and Unique, the label for glamorous cocktail and evening dresses, have also already confirmed their participation.

AMD Exhibition
And the AMD Academy of Fashion & Design Düsseldorf will be presenting a fashion design exhibition at Gallery: the graduates’ best final projects will be presented on tailors’ dummies or in the form of sketches at the stands of the young designers in the ‘Alte Schmiedehallen’
