New season preview

Even more power at the Areal Böhler

Due to the synergy of Gallery and Gallery SHOES with four dates each year, the Areal Böhler, as a tradeshow platform of Igedo Company in Germany, has taken on a new significance on the European trade fair scene in a very short time.

Five days of cumulative showroom power

Ulrike Kähler, Managing Director of Igedo Company and Project Director of both events, is once again combining all resources with strategic intelligence and turning PREMIUM & AGENCIES into a new hotspot with obvious appeal: the ›Kaltstahlhalle‹, home to noteworthy premium European shoe brands during Gallery SHOES, will become an effective, self-contained showroom area and therefore a new must-attend order hotspot for Düsseldorf over  five days in total, another two days after the official three days of the tradeshow: “The size and setting of the Kaltstahlhalle hall is perfect for this newly created area. As of the next edition, from Friday to Tuesday all sales agencies previously represented at Gallery will be showcased together with first-time exhibitors. Here visitors will primarily find shoe brands that are represented by agencies.

“The new area is a must-attend order hotspot for Düsseldorf, which not only stands out because of the extended, strategically favourable ordering period over a number of consecutive days, but also because of the combined brand strength on show. It will represent a new focus of attention during Düsseldorf’s CPD trade fair,” summarised Ulrike Kähler.

This change is also being accompanied by new services: the closed showroom area has its own entrance and catering, which means that it can also function independently on the two additional days after the official trade fair dates, while still being seamlessly integrated during the regular days. The only exception is Modeagentur Klauser, which will be taking up its long-standing position in the ›Halle am Wasserturm‹, with a 10-day presence in a closed side wing which, however, is right next to the ›Kaltstahlhalle‹, and feels like one space.

Avantgarde, designers and eveningwear in the Alte Schmiedehallen

During the official days of the tradeshow, from Saturday to Monday, the ›Alte Schmiedehallen‹, as the largest and central hall at Areal Böhler, will be a hotbed of European avant-garde designers and accessories. Brand new: the integrated eveningwear.

“We are offering a highly professional setting for international brands of different sizes to successfully show their collections in Düsseldorf and Germany. This is a service that attracts international appreciation. Ümit Ünal, for example, has been exhibiting here for years. A brand that can only be found in the best avant-garde segments and has found in us a platform that makes distribution in Germany and other neighbouring countries possible,” sums up Ulrike Kähler.

“In the ›Alte Schmiedehallen‹, CONTEMPORARY and ACCESSOIRES merge with Bags & Jewellery and EVENING & OCCASION to form a collective ordering venue that offers Europe-wide exhibitors the ultimate service, which also includes international marketing. Professional visitors will therefore be attracted specifically by individual brands or the opportunity to discover new additions to collections. In conjunction with the new cumulative showroom power, there will be a clear division into two areas that are mutually beneficial but also function separately and independently of one other.”

Gallery – a must-see during CPD

Areal Böhler, which is located on the other side of the Rhine to the city centre, is meanwhile an established port of call for professional buyers. A Gallery shuttle that runs directly from Kaiserswerther Strasse to the event is also well established and can be called via a hotline when required. More details will be available on the Gallery website shortly before the tradeshow begins.
